Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre is located on SH2 near Eketahuna, Wairarapa. The Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre is a great way to spend a few hours on your travels thru Wairarapa. The attraction is designed for kids and adults alike, and there is something for everybody. This place is a must do on your list of things to do the Wairarapa. You can stroll around the centre to view the animals and birds, or take a walk in the surrounding bush track.
The centre is partnership between local Maori, DOC (Department of Conservation) and a trust board. The aim of the organisation is to restore and protect the area's natural beauty. Mount Bruce Reserve is also referred to as Pukaha Mount Bruce. The area is special to local Maori and the wildlife centre and surrounding bush houses many of New Zealands native species.

These include Birds: Kiwi, takahe, kereru, pukeko, weka and many more. The Animals include: NZ icon the Tuatara, eels and many more. There is even a top cafe on site to tempt your taste buds.
