Masterton Hospital is located on Te Ore Ore Road, in Masterton. While commonly referred to as Masterton Hospital the correct name is Wairarapa Hospital. Hospital Visiting Hours are from 2.00pm to 8.00pm, 7 days a week. Unfortunately there are no visiting hours in the morning due to doctors rounds. Lunch time is also reserved a quiet time for patients so they can be uninterrupted during their meal. If the patient is a child, or is critically ill then exceptions can be made by contacting the hospital staff. There is plenty of parking at the hospital, but please note the 30km speed limit in the hospital grounds. The entire hospital campus is smoke-free.

Accommodation near the Hospital
The hospital has limited on-site accommodation for whanau/families of patients with a serious, or life threatening condition. The accommodation is called Taku Wahi and is available to residents from out side Masterton. If you meet these two criteria then when visiting, ask the hospital staff to contact reception to book on your behalf. The facility is very basic, and there is a nominal charge for the service. About Masterton Hospital
The hospital in its present form is a new purpose built facility opened in 2006. The development cost $30 million and was funded by the Wairarapa DHB. Wairarapa Hospital has 92 beds, an emergency department and the full range of normal health services such as medial, surgical, rehab, radiology, maternity and pediatrics. The original Masterton Hospital was one of the earliest hospitals in New Zealand. Originally built in 1907, the hospital has recently been rebuilt and extended on adjacent land. The hospital is the primary provider of hospital care in the Wairarapa region. The Wairarapa / Masterton Hospital is managed by the Wairarapa District Health Board.
