Martinborough is a popular wine producing region north of Wellington. Located in the Wairarapa, Martinborough is a quaint small town, 65km from Wellington, and 35km from Masterton. Pinot Noir is the region's most produced wine variety, and brings visitors in from New Zealand and around the world. Martinborough is also well known for putting on local events which draw in the crowds. Toast Martinborough brings a discerning, wine tasting, and fun loving crowd, and the Martinborough Fair delights children with this exciting day out for families.
Think Martinborough, Think Wine. The two certainly go hand in hand. The town and surrounding fields have been producing award winning wine for years. Pinot Noir is a strong suit, with a good portion of the local wineries producing the variety. Palliser Estate, Burnt Spur, Alana Estate are just some of the top wineries in the area.
