About the Wairarapa Times-Age
The early beginnings of the newspaper were back in 1878. There were several daily titles, and over the years some closed down, and some new ones opened. In 1938 the two regional papers merged to create the Wairarapa Times-Age. It has kept this name even since. Part of the APN network, the paper employs around 50 full-time staff and up to 70 part time staff. Another good source of local information is our Masterton Local Services page.
